Join the CVMA and speaker Stephanie Caston, DVM, DACVS-LA, for a series of three webinars focused on equine wound care.
Monday, February 8th, Wounds and Wound Management: Equine practitioners have to deal with wounds on a regular basis. This session will be devoted to discussing what to expect with open, healing wounds, how to manage them, and best practices for difficult and non-healing wounds. Regional limb perfusions have become essential to treatment of many conditions in horses. Background, technique and practical applications of regional limb perfusions will be covered as well as an update on the current literature and best practices for applying this therapy.

Stephanie Caston, DVM, DACVS-LA grew up in southeast Texas. She completed undergraduate studies at McNeese State University and attended Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. After a surgical residency at Iowa State University, she spent 2 years as an emergency surgeon. Dr. Caston is currently an Associate Professor and co-section head in equine surgery at Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoys the busy caseload at ISU as well as clinical, lab, and classroom teaching. Her current research and clinical interests include equine skin tumors, lameness, and veterinary education. She also has a small boarding, training, and sales farm. Dr. Caston competes own horses in eventing and fox hunts during the winter months.
